Test facilities for software developers

The Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) and Logius offer various testing facilities that can help software developers develop and test their software in order to prevent or reduce errors when exchanging messages in production.

These are the following facilities:
- Aansluit Suite Digipoort (ASD)
- Validation Test Service (VTS)
- Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) Test Facility

Aansluit Suite Digipoort (ASD)

The Aansluit Suite Digipoort offers functionality to help you connect to Logius' Digipoort (Process Infrastructure) and to create and exchange messages.
The Aansluit Suite Digipoort helps software developers create and test system connections with Digipoort. However, even if you do not manage a system link yourself, you can still validate messages and view the data standards here. The Aansluit Suite Digipoort offers various test scenarios and interaction patterns for different services.

Messages are not checked for content in the Aansluit Suite Digipoort! The corresponding responses are simulated in the Aansluit Suite Digipoort test scenarios.

To the Aansluit Suite Digipoort

Validation Test Service (VTS)

The VTS allows you to validate your XML and XBRL messages and check whether your messages comply with the specifications that apply to the message in question.
The test message is subjected to the following checks in the VTS:

  • Encoding and character set.
  • Well-formed check: does the message comply with XML standards?
  • Syntax check: does the message comply with the XSD schema?
  • XBRL checks: XBRL 2.1, Dutch Taxonomy, Tax and Customs Administration FRIS, SBR Filing Rules, and Tax and Customs Administration Business Rules.
  • Consistency check: does the data in the message comply with the mutual consistency and permitted values from the specifications or, for XBRL, from the Business Guidelines?

Immediately after validation, you will see the result on your screen.

To the Validation Test Service

Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA) Test Facility

The NTCA Test Facility for software developers consists of the Digipoort Pre-production Environment and the NTCA Acceptance Environment.

In this test facility, you can exchange messages via the Pre-production Environment of the current Digipoort as well as via the Pre-production Environment of the new Digipoort.

In both cases, the messages end up in the NTCA's Acceptance Environment.

This facility ensures messages are successfully exchanged with NTCA and reach the correct final status.

Please note: NTCA return messages and notifications are not available in Digipoort during testing.

The test facility is expressly not intended for performance testing and regression testing.
